Truthful Mechanisms for Medical Surplus Product Allocation

We are proud to share that a paper co-written by Professor Atalay Atasu has won the MSOM Journal Best Paper Award. Titled ‘Truthful Mechanisms for Medical Surplus Product Allocation’, the paper analyses a resource allocation problem faced by organisations that recover medical surplus products to fulfil the needs of underserved healthcare facilities in developing countries.

The research is an example of Business as a Force for Good, particularly in the global healthcare and supply chains context brought to the fore by Covid, as its findings have already led to a change in the practice of an award-winning MSRO.
